School Recycling Program

School Recycling Program
Highland City Elementary School has a
recycling program for both paper and
aluminum cans. Brandon Young is

the recycling bins on campus.

The Republic/Florida Refuse Service Single Stream School Recycling program is a comprehensive solution for the needs of today’s Polk County area school systems.  Single Stream Recycling means that all of your school’s recyclables are collected together in one “single stream.” We accept newspapers, magazines, office paper, classroom papers, mail, phone books and flattened cardboard.  In addition, we accept plastic containers numbered 1-4, as well as aluminum and steel cans. In fact, if your paper will tear and is free of food and drink…it’s recyclable.  No sorting is necessary…no removing paper clips or staples. What could be easier?

Our school recycling program provides integrated waste stream management, which helps create a balance between your waste and recycling services.  This balance maximizes your cost savings while minimizing adverse environmental impact.

School Recycling Program

If your Polk County Public School is interested in participating in a recycling program, please contact your School Board Waste and Recycling Specialist. Private schools may also contact Florida Refuse to participate.

Your Recycling Specialist offers education, training and tools to develop a “culture change” among students and staff. The program is designed to help foster “green” habits today that will put your students on a path to becoming responsible environmental citizens for tomorrow. Your Recycling Specialist is with you and your school to provide on-going support throughout the life of your program. Republic/Florida Refuse Service is a partner you can count on.
